About Katy

Katy Tabb is a Seattle-based choreographer, director, performer, and teaching artist. Katy’s choreographic and directorial work has been presented at regional theaters such as The 5th Ave. Theatre, Village Theatre, Union Arts Center, Theatre Aspen, The Great Lakes Center for the Arts, Olney Theatre Center, and Taproot Theatre. She has also served as the director/choreographer for Seattle perennial fan-favorite productions of Marxiano Production’s Bohemia and Seattle Vice - blending the worlds of musical theatre, cabaret, circus, burlesque, and comedy. She made her critically-acclaimed Village Theatre directorial debut on 9 to 5 in 2026. She is a proud two-time Gregory Award recipient for Best Choreography for Newsies and Legally Blonde (both at Village Theatre). Katy brings fresh eyes and a keen point of view to the revival of existing works and new works alike. 

Outside of her own choreographic and directorial work, Katy has served as an associate director and choreographer to numerous lauded artists such as Lisa Shriver, Ebony Williams, Michael Arnold, and Adam Immerwahr. 

As a musical theater performer, Katy has performed in regional theatres such as The 5th Ave. Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, Village Theatre, Musical Theatre West, and Imagination Stage; serving as a dance captain in numerous productions. Prior to finding her passion for theater, Katy spent several years touring internationally with Los Angeles-based modern dance companies such as Vox Dance Theatre and Benita Bike’s DanceArt.

An educator in dance and theater, she loves sharing the joy of storytelling through movement with her students. She has had the privilege of choreographing and directing numerous youth theatre productions and is a sought after workshop guest artist at universities and theatre programs across the country. Katy has served as the choreographer for the Intermediate Theatre Production for the past two years at Interlochen Arts Camp, choreographing The Secret Garden and Pippin. 

Katy received her B.A. in Dance from Chapman University and is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and Actor’s Equity Association.
